The Story Behind “You Love Me”

“You Love Me” is a song I wrote to reflect my own thankful experience of God-designed and beautifully provided mutual devotion and enduring love, constantly expressed day after day and year after year. The same experience of this love is true for countless others. I wanted the song to not only be an encouraging and thoughtful listening experience, but also one that could be sung by couples or as a solo by others for weddings, anniversaries, or any such occasions. It is duet reflecting settled, grateful devotion — two voices celebrating a love they know God, Who IS Love, has Himself designed and given. Love that accepts the one who is loved “flaws and all,” remains patient and kind, and holds the other tighter through every tear. Hand in hand, it faces any storm with the promise of staying “safe and warm” — a covenant renewed day after day, saying “all the way our whole life through, every day we’ll say, ‘I do.’” — Terry Parks
